Fairfield Porter – Drawing from the Estate
September 29th - November 10th 2001
After more than twenty-five years representing Fairfield Porter (1907-1975) and the Porter Estate, Hirschl & Adler Modern presents its first exhibition devoted exclusively to the artist's pencil and ink drawings from the 1950s, '60s, and '70s. Concurrent with the recent publication of Joan Ludman's Catalogue Raisonné of the Paintings, Watercolors, and Pastels, the show features over seventy works, never before exhibited, including views of Long Island and Maine, interior scenes, and intimate portraits of family and friends.
