Randall Exon: Currents
October 29th - December 5th 2009
Inspired by the coastal areas of Ballycastle, County Mayo, Ireland where he paints each summer, as well by the farmlands along the Brandywine River where he now lives, Exon’s evocative landscapes and moody interiors depict actual places infused with memories from his childhood spent in the vast spaces of the Midwest.

The new paintings in Currents are not about recording specific times and places. Rather, Exon’s subjects are derived from what he refers to as his “ongoing visual journal.” His scenes depict fleeting moments, the ebb and flow of time, states of change, and streams of consciousness.
